I have always felt distant from art that intensely exaggerates reality. I perceived it as an image of a world that was too far away and carried signs that were incomprehensible to me. It was like a letter, surely important, but written in a language unknown to me. Animals were born from the spirit of contemplation - no need to invent anything, fascinating forms are already created, you just have to look. “Animal portraits” is a concept I understand broadly. I do not limit it to presenting the image of a given creature and its recognizable shapes within the species. I also try to paint his joy, sadness, fear, and observe his characteristic grimace or movement. The psychology of observed animals and its deep similarity to human behavior fascinates me and enlivens my reflection on the closeness of our natures.
