Birds are probably the most common topic in my work. I use various techniques to paint them, but most of the paintings presented here are oil paintings. My compositions present mostly simplified, slightly blurred visions of birds viewed as if from a distance. Sometimes these are remembered images, sometimes slightly imagined ones. As in many of my other works, the silhouettes stand out clearly from the background, the birds fly or sit in characteristic poses. Perhaps my recurring desire to paint birds is explained by the aura of specific poetics that surrounds them. I feel their fleetingness and - one could joke - the volatility of the topic.
